Road Kill (Road Train)

(2010) ***1/2

I enjoyed this action horror movie. Though I have a tough time understanding British and Aussie accents, it was worth my time.

Ok, so these four 20-something year old Aussies are driving cross country when they notice something they call a "road train". Its pretty much an 18 wheeler with a 10 wheeler attatched. They get all giddy when it catches up to them and start making the trucking arm movement (horn-honking). All is fun until they decide to not let the truck pass, then there is a passing game going on until the big bang!

Their jeep gets flipped over leaving them stranded. They see that the truck is stopped up ahead and decide to go investigate....ya think thats a good idea, especially if you see this on the hood??

Well, the kiddies get what's coming to them with a really good supernatural horror twist! It reminded me of Duel in the beginning, then developed into the great movie it is. It even has an awesome crash scene towards the end!

Man, I'd think an 18 wheeler with a 10 wheeler attached would be so hard to maneuver it couldn't possibly be a threat. Like Killdozer's brother, or something.

Haven't these kids seen enough horror movies in their lifetime to know it's never a good idea to get into a "game" with a mysterious truck?

when i was a kid i watched this news segment on three-trailer trucks. it was all about how the driver has no control over that last trailer, and that in the event of a sudden swerve by the driver, that last trailer would snap around like a whip. small car drivers were getting smacked right off the road.

i don't remember whether the news segment said anything about what would happen to the truck afterwards, but i'd figure likely as not, the truck itself would get snarled and incapacitated.

this would be a really short-life-span bad guy: like a monster whose primary method of attack is to shoot irreplaceable body parts at people.
