The Gore Gore Girls

(1972) **1/2

Uh oh! There's a psycho on the loose murdering hot, sexy strippers in unspeakably gruesome ways! Will the bumbling bad-acting cops be able to identify the killer before another bouncing nude blonde gets her face melted with an iron? And so it goes with another of Hershell Gordon Lewis's cult splatter-fests. All of his patented maneuvers are in place in this nasty little flick which has the honor of being one of the very first X-rated horror films. Terrible acting, a plot that was likely written in under a minute and excessive (and I mean excessive) gore.

Eyeballs getting ripped out of the skull? Death by repeated blows to the bare ass with a meat tenderizer? Something so horrible and gross that I can't even bring myself to type the words? Sure, why the hell not. This is what it's all about, folks. Absolutely 100% disgusting. Accept no substitutes. I wish I could elaborate a bit more on the story but I really don't have much to work with. About half the movie is devoted to the strippers doing their thang. If that's your kind of padding then this is your kind of movie.

Truth be told, The Gore Gore Girls is overall a bad - make that terrible - movie in almost every way that counts. If you are considering checking out HGL's twisted work I would still recommend starting with the far more interesting but no less vomit inducing Wizard of Gore or 2000 Maniacs.

Wow - I don't even know what to say about this! Great review, I had no idea you could kill someone with repeated blows to the ass with a meat tenderizer.

I wonder if Mythbusters would test that if we all wrote in and asked...

Great review JSP! Before I take your recommendation to start with Wizard of Gore or 2000 Maniacs, I must ask the most important question. Do they fill the time in between killings with strippers too?

200 maniacs was a fun flick but I think I'll take a pass on this one. Nice review.

I have no interest in film like this, but I really hope Mythbusters accepts the challenge to test the meat tenderizer ass blows.

Sounds vile.

If you like movies padded with stripping, check out Mantis in Lace, which is also distributed by Something Weird video, the people who put out the other flicks JSP recommends.
