ZOMBIE PROM 2011

The weekend following a long day -- and long week -- at work is greeted with what is quickly becoming a tradition for me & JSP: Zombie Prom.

Our mutual love of the undead and dressing up in ridiculously glittery garments led us to only one conclusion for costumes this year: KISS zombies.
Slit-throat Star Child

"Shock Me" Ace

The Verdi Club, a ballroom dance joint in San Francisco, held its third annual Z-Prom and it feels like it's only getting better each year. There were noticeably fewer zombies, but what lacked in fake gashes and demands for brains was made up for in decorations: chains and dead baby figures dangled above us as we entered, and giant spiderwebs with spun victims awaited us in the main ballroom.

Voodoo swing band Slim Jenkins rocked it!

That's not my hand but that IS jsp's foot. j/k

Kudos to Crystal for doing my awesome makeup job as well as her own. My feeling that we had kickass costumes was confirmed when two people asked if they could take a picture with us on the train.

Yeah, that's the greatest feeling.

Love the Zombie Prom! You guys look terrific (although you should wear contacts when you dress as Paul, Paul doesn't do glasses). Crystal you look more like Paul than Paul looks like Paul. I like that you chose an Animalize-era Paul with the purple headband. JSP is an awesome zombie Ace! You guys need to bring a Gene and Peter next year (or dare I say Vinnie and Eric?).

JPX I know Paul doesn't do glasses, but contacts were difficult to acquire as this month has been busy for me at school and I'd be "goin' blind" without wearing them. We just did the best we could and still a gazillion compliments throughout the night.

It'd be fun to dress as Paul again, carry around an inflatable guitar, and get people to chant random KISS choruses but insist, "I think you can do better than that!"

You guys rock. Rock! The makeup is awesome. How did you watch horror movies with your eyes torn out, Johnny?
