Messiah of Evil

(1973) ****

I'm really diggin the 70's horror movies! Though so far most not having special effects in them, its really noticeable that their not needed. All they needed was the groovy sound effects, cool clothes, great hair-do's, and beautiful artwork!

Messiah of Evil is the story of a woman who goes looking for her father after he mysteriously stops correspondence with her. When she arrives at his seaside home, she finds that the whole town has gone quite batty. She is joined by a far out new-age couple who were curiously attracted to the strange town. Together, the trio find out that the town has become one big, evil, flesh and blood craving, moon worshiping zombie cult.
Now the new-age couple, or should I say trio because its 1 guy and two women, kinda don't fit in the story. The women are strangely overprotective of this pencil-looking(really, this douche bag looks just like a pencil) jerk who is obviously trying to get in the main character's panties. I don't blame him, she is beautiful(played by Marianna Hill). But one of his girls is gorgeous too(Anitra Ford). Seriously, these women look like models! Pencil jerk

One by one the ladies start leaving and head for disaster. The first one, played by Joy Bang goes to the movies and eventually realizes that she is surrounded by others.

Then Anitra Ford leaves to go to the grocery store and sees this....

The people in town are all zombies with bleeding eyes!
The movie has a good ending I'm happy to say :) But then again, why wouldn't it? It was done by the people that made Howard the Duck!!

Man, that dude really does look like a pencil. His head is narrower than his necktie!

I watched this one a couple of years ago, I did like it too. I hadn't thought about him looking like a pencil, but your totally right.

i kind of think every movie could be improved by having all of the characters be zombies with bleeding eyes.
