Phantasm
(1979) ****
Such a great classic! For a movie made in '79, its creative, scary and has a great theme song. It's one of those classics I had to watch behind the scenes of to get the extra added humor and trivia. Did you know they purposely made The Tall Man's suit too short for him to make him look a lot taller? Angus Scrimm is creepy looking enough! This movie actually won an award in 1979! Its full of goodies! Like a flying silver ball that drills into people's heads, little scary growly hooded dwarfs, a Tall Man that oozes green blood, and a chopped off finger that turns into a big killer fly! Sounding awesome yet? If you haven't seen this, you are missing out!
Its about a pair of brothers Mike and Jody who just lost their parents. Mike is afraid to lose his brother, Jody, so he follows him to the funeral and spies from the bushes. He accidentally sees " The Tall Man"( the funeral director) put the coffin back into the hearse. Mike goes into the funeral home to find out whats going on and he comes across a flying silver sphere and hooded dwarfs that try to kill him. With the aid of their friend Reggie the ice cream man, the brothers go back to the funeral home and find out about the Tall Man and his dwarf slaves.
This funeral house looks familiar..oh hey! It's the house from Burnt Offerings!!"I'm coming to get you, BOY!"There is a big fly in your hair!"Don't kill it Reggie! That might be Grandma!"

Boooooy!
I've been meaning to take a trip to that house!
I love all of the Phantasm movies .
... except for the 4th one.
Oh yeah, Burnt Offereings, that little made-for-tv gem...
I liked the 4th Phantasm, I just wish it hadn't ended on such a cliffhanger!
Hmmm, I haven't seen the fourth.
They're all interesting in their weird way, but the original's the best. Love me some rage dwarf action!
Love this movie!! Nice tidbit about the suit - I love hearing that kind of stuff.
