The Shuttered Room

(1967) ***

H.P. Lovecraft's The Shuttered Room!!! Well, didn't seem all that scary, perhaps it was for 1967. The acting was really good, I got to see Oliver Reed in his younger years, before Burnt Offerings :)
The plot was pretty good; something spooky, family related hiding in a locked up room above a closed down mill. It's just the fact that the husband realizes that the local thugs are after his wife, but he constantly leaves her alone?? He's first taunted by them on the road with a car bumping, then again in person, then later when they go after his wife and then him. He didn't take the hint that they were trouble in the beginning? Anywho, the movie was good and I found it amazing all of the energy that Oliver Reed had running around this island.
Susannah and her husband go back to her hometown to spend the holiday in the family abandoned mill on an island. They come across her thug of a cousin and his gang a few times and find out why there is a locked away room in the mill."I'm going to chase you until you kiss me, my pretty cousin!""Oh no! You found me hiding behind the dollhouse!"

After participating in Horrorthon eight years running, I'm never going to a small island town to relax. Never.
