The Dunwich Horror

(1970) ***

I seriously dig the Lovecraft movies I'm finding. Even though I saw the 2009 version of this with Jeffrey Combs(of course), I had to see something else with Dean Stockwell in it...he is always Al from Quantum Leap to me :). This one seems a lot closer to the actual story than the 2009 version. The only thing that kept throwing me off is the close-ups of Stockwell's eyes and eyebrows. Either they were trying to say that he was "sexy", or that he was trying to hypnotise with his eyes. After a bit of that, it gets annoying.
Ok, so the story goes this way. Not so quite human, Wilbur Whateley tries to get the Necronomicon out of Arkham Miskatonic University to open the seventh gates to release the Ancient Ones. He is first refused to view the book until he tries to seduce the blonde babe(Sandra Dee)behind the counter. She lets him view the book and take notes. He then comes back and steals the book. He realizes that he needs a virgin to help open the gates, so he comes back for her. He seduces her to come to his home and keeps her there with his seductive eyes and eyebrows(lol). She then offers herself to the altar to help open the gates....

"Look into my eyes..and my fuzzy eyebrows"...ooooooohNow you know how to open the gates....better than Crowley's ...Ok, well maybe similar.
