The Curse of El Charro

I'm so boring
(2004) **

Four girls, who in reality would never hang out together, go on vacation. They travel to Arizona where one girl’s uncle owns a luxurious house. Maria, a real sullen stick-in-the-mud is the Debbie Downer of the group. She just isn’t fun, she keeps having weird dreams and all she seems to know how to do is to stand around looking worried. They venture into town for some fun, meet some guys and the next thing they know, this evil zombie like guy named El Charro is hacking people to bits. It seems the wallflower Maria reminds him of his long dead beloved. Of course a whole bunch people have to die while Maria stands around fretting. Personally, I would have dumped Maria two towns back, she’s a total bummer. Still, I don’t feel too bad for the people who die, El Charro is friggin’ slow, any fool could get away from him and these idiots just stand there screaming, waiting for the big lunk to lumber over and kill them. No big deal if you miss this one.

I'll take your word on this one Cat. I hate people who never have anything positive to say. That was my big problem with the lead girl in Diary of the Dead.

The phrase "Debbie Downer" has always amused me. Not that actual Debbie Downers are amusing; it just makes me giggle.

I read your review and then glanced again at the title, it's like I could see you making air quotes around "curse."
