Warlock
(1989) ***1/2
Being a big fan of Julian Sands, I love this movie! I had to have him sign the cover picture when I met him last year at Rock N Shock in Worcester, Ma. I finally have this on dvd, even though I have it(and many other horrors) on vhs. Definitely great 80's movie with big stars; Julian Sands, Lori Singer, and Richard E. Grant- even the evil bitch from House of the Devil is in it!
Basically, a warlock escapes from 1691 and travels through time to the 20th century to piece together the Devil's Bible, that contains the true name of god. When uttered the name, the world will un-create. Richard E. Grant plays the warlock hunter who follows him and tries to capture him and Lori Singer plays a girl that owns the house that the warlock falls in when he travels through time. To find the parts of the book, the warlock goes to the local channeler(Mary Woronov) and asks to speak to "Samael"(maybe that's what they say, sounds like they say it wrong, like Zamiel?), and when the real demon comes through, her eyes pop out and act as guides. HAHAHAHA! Mostly this movie is adventurous and funny, at least to me it is. The warlock hunter even has a warlock compass, to detect his presence. Lol.The Channeler with the real demon speaking, unlike when she pretended at first.Warlocks can fly after eating fat cooked from an unbaptized boy.

I've never seen this, but I've always heard it was horrible. Which makes it perfect for Horrorthon -- nice pick!
